Guam’s Best Izakaya Experience!

If you want to savor Nagoya’s Izakaya food in Guam, look no further than Izakaya Yabuya! With a wide variety of drinks that will delight any alcohol lover, as well as a food menu, even those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages and families with children can comfortably enjoy izakaya-style meals. Its fantastic location along Hotel Road in Blue Lagoon Plaza (diagonally across from Acanta Mall) is another appealing point.

The spacious interior features table seating perfect for groups to enjoy meals together, as well as counter seating ideal for a quick drink. It’s a welcoming atmosphere where even first-time visitors can relax comfortably.

You’ll be amazed by the sheer variety of the menu! Just looking at items 1 through 37, you’ll find everything from comforting classics like edamame and chilled tofu, to fresh daily sashimi delivered directly from Tsukiji. Furthermore, the fragrant robatayaki (fireside grilling) menu offers perfect accompaniments to drinks, such as grilled stingray fin and the intensely flavorful grilled collar of fatty amberjack. You can also enjoy piping hot and juicy beef kushikatsu (skewered and breaded beef), melty cheese and beef tsukune (meatball) grill, and even fragrant grilled rice balls – a truly diverse lineup!

For appetizers, you can’t go wrong with the izakaya classic, edamame. And the chicken wings and grilled squid tentacles are a perfect match for beer!

For those with a bigger appetite, items 38 through 89 offer a wide selection, from hand-rolled sushi to Yabuya’s recommended okonomiyaki and ankake tofu (tofu in thick sauce). You’ll also find the exquisite tonpeiyaki (pork and egg omelet), freshly fried shrimp, deep-fried squid tentacles, and the must-try spicy tebasaki (chicken wings) that go perfectly with drinks. There’s also assorted tempura, and for those wanting a proper meal, various rice bowls, curries, and even Nagoya’s famous Taiwan ramen await – you’ll be spoiled for choice!

Another dish that caught my eye was the #79, a hugely popular Chef’s Recommendation: Spicy Taiwan mix noodle, which really raises my expectations!

The sweet and spicy simmered ground meat, tempura scraps, and green onions are mixed with the chewy kishimen noodles and a soft-boiled egg. The richness of the soft-boiled egg intertwines with the moderately spicy ground meat and the firm kishimen, creating an exquisite flavor! It’s a dish that stimulates your appetite with its addictive deliciousness, making it hard to stop eating.

In addition to standard shochu, wine, Korean soju, beer, and whiskey, they offer visually stunning frozen fruit sours packed with chunks of frozen fruit. There are also fresh squeezed chuhai, made with plenty of freshly squeezed juice upon order, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages for those who don’t drink alcohol. You’ll find a rich selection of unique and flavorful drinks that you won’t easily find elsewhere.

Being easy on the wallet while still offering a casual and enjoyable experience is what makes izakayas so appealing. If you’re unsure about where to eat, definitely give Izakaya Yabuya a try!
