Hafa adai,
The restaurant we’re introducing today is a bit unique. It’s an establishment that’s become a topic of conversation due to its innovative concept, and it opened last November.
The restaurant is located in the center of Tamon, right next to the Westin Hotel. Its name is K-Ramen (K-RAMEN Guam).
Upon entering the store, you’ll see walls full of Korean instant ramen packages! That’s right! This is a place where you can enjoy Korean instant ramen. You may have seen these in supermarkets and been curious about their taste, but you may not know what to expect. You might want to try them before purchasing them as souvenirs, right? However, it can be a bit difficult for tourists to eat instant ramen in such a setting. That’s where K-Ramen comes in as the perfect place to try them out.
Everything here is self-service, from choosing your ramen to preparing it. First, select your ramen and put the noodles, dried seasonings, powdered soup, etc., into a designated bowl. Toppings like green onions and bean sprouts are free of charge.
Next, place your bowl on this machine and press the switch. Each shelf of instant ramen has labels like “Press-Menu1” to indicate which button to press. Depending on the menu (Menu1, Menu2, etc.), the amount of water and cooking time will vary, and the machine will cook the ramen according to the ideal method for that particular ramen.
Once the water starts boiling, the noodles are loosened. When the set boiling time is over, the ramen is ready.
You can also add extra toppings like cheese, boiled eggs, ham, and sausages for an additional cost. Depending on the day, there are some items available at a slightly lower price, so be sure to check.
In the foreground of the photo is a spicy seafood-flavored ramen. In the back is a fried noodle-style ramen, where the staff takes care of draining the water. I added cheese as a topping, and they even gave me advice on the timing of the addition, making the ramen delicious.
In addition to instant ramen, there are also frozen rice balls, cup-style tteokbokki, dumplings, rice, and more, so you can have quite a fulfilling meal.
All the instant ramen is priced at $7.99, offering an easy and affordable way to enjoy Korean instant ramen. There are many varieties here that you won’t find in supermarkets, so it’s a great spot for Korean food fans and anyone interested in trying new ramen.
