In Guam, traffic drives on the right side of the road.
You may turn right on a red light, but only after coming to a complete stop at the stop line and yielding to pedestrians and cross traffic.
*When there is a “No Right Turn on Red” sign or when the right-turn-only signal is red, right turns are not allowed.
The maximum speed anywhere in Guam is 45 mph (about 72 km/h). Always follow the posted speed limit signs; many roads are posted at 35 mph (56 km/h), 25 mph or 15 mph.
Passing a stopped school bus is prohibited, including for vehicles in the opposite lane. When a school bus stops in front of you and signals a stop sign, please be sure to stop behind the bus and wait for it to start.
At a stop sign, come to a complete stop before the stop line (or before the crosswalk or intersection if there is no stop line).
Roads become slippery when rain begins to fall and in wet weather, so please slow down and keep a longer following distance.
The center lane marked by yellow studs and yellow lines is for preparing to make a left turn. It is not a travel lane. Make U-turns only where signs or signals allow them.
You can be penalized for having an open container of alcohol in the car, and passengers may not drink alcohol inside a moving vehicle.

The use of a cell phone is permitted by law when calling the police or fire department in an emergency, when using the hands-free function, or when parked in a safe place.
Violators (first offense): $100 or more fine. A fine of $500 or more for a second offense. If you cause a traffic accident, the fine will be $1,000 or more.
