For students and groups, sharing one rental car can reduce the cost per traveler. The daily vehicle rate is only one part of the budget, however. Additional drivers, optional protection, fuel, parking, and the taxi from the airport all matter. The reliable way to save is to compare the total transportation cost for the entire trip.

The $100 amount placed on the card at pickup is a temporary preauthorization under the current terms. It is not a normal rental payment transferred to the company, but it temporarily reduces the credit available on the card.
The group can divide common expenses such as the vehicle and fuel. Driver registration is not an item to skip. The current terms list an additional-driver fee of $5 per person per day, and accidents or damage involving an unregistered driver are excluded from coverage. Register everyone who may drive when signing the agreement.
The smallest class is not automatically the best value. If luggage does not fit and the group needs two cars, or if a fully occupied car is uncomfortable for longer drives, the apparent saving disappears. Check passenger and luggage capacity before booking.
One option is to separate days spent around Tumon from days planned for northern or southern Guam, then rent only when a car is useful. The current terms do not provide prorated refunds for an early return, so define those driving days before making the reservation.
The official guide says reservation cancellation has no handling fee, but a change requires canceling and booking again. Your preferred class may no longer be available when you rebook, so do not build the budget around repeated changes.
Complimentary round-trip transportation is offered between the office and Tumon hotels. Leopalace Resort guests connect at Guam Plaza Resort & Spa, while Starts Guam Resort guests connect at Reef Hotel. Confirm the time and meeting point in advance.
There is no pickup from the airport. The company currently estimates the taxi fare to its Tumon office at about $20, plus a suggested tip of about 10–15%. Present the airport taxi receipt at check-in and the current promotion discounts $15 from the rental charge. No receipt means no discount, and it cannot be combined with another discount. A complimentary consolidated airport shuttle is available after the vehicle is returned.
The base rate includes liability protection for injury or damage to the other party, but it does not broadly protect the rental vehicle itself. Under the current terms, optional CDW is limited to car-to-car collisions with both drivers present and retains a $1,000 deductible. ZDW can be added only with CDW and waives that deductible. NOC protection addresses the loss-of-use charge while the vehicle is being repaired.
Exclusions remain, so buying every option does not make every event free. Compare the coverage, exclusions, and amount your group could afford to pay after an accident before deciding.
As of September 13, 2026, the official site does not publish a student-specific discount. Sharing common costs, renting only on planned driving days, and using eligible transportation offers are more dependable ways to reduce the total.

Pick one appropriately sized vehicle, define the days it is needed, register every driver, use eligible transportation, and include protection and return conditions in the calculation. That approach reduces surprises without cutting essential safeguards.
